Well, it is really very difficult to say that it was or it was not a conservative movement. To understand why American Revolution was conservative or why not, we need to first understand what is conservative. Conservative means the preservation of traditional practice in politics and society. If we depend on this meaning, then I would say that no, American Revolution was not a Conservative Movement. Even though, the revolution was fought to preserve democracy and not change democracy, the society and government changed to a great extent.
